2017 Winter Course Redesign

The Center for Teaching & Learning invites you to apply for the 2017 Winter Course Redesign Studio. The purpose of this experience is to provide faculty with the time, resources, information and collaborative support needed to redesign an existing course in ways that will maximize student engagement and learning.

Participants will spend time integrating research-driven teaching and learning strategies into their selected course. At the conclusion of the studio, each faculty member will have a formal written course plan, redigend class meeting and updated, appropriate, relevant and meaningful course assignments with an associated assessment rubric. Faculty member will include a map of the relationship between learning and program outcomes as well as how each will be assessed, course materials, and course activities.

If selected, each faculty member must commit to:

  • Attendance at the following sessions:
    • Studio Day 1:     Dec/Jan. TBA  from 9-2:00 PM
    • Studio Day 2:     Dec/Jan. TBA  from 9-2:00 PM
    • Studio Day 3:     Dec/Jan. TBA  from 9-2:00 PM
  • Producing a finished redesigned TBA

Faculty selected to participate in the 2017 Winter Course Redesign Studio will receive a stipend of $500, pending approval of required course outcomes. We are currently able to fund 6 faculty members, ideally one from each division.
